Arrived tightly packed in a box. On closer inspection they looked fake, but no more fake than a Christmas tree! I straightened them and they were solid and I figured they would be the background for the jewelry I was going to cover them with. They were the perfect size for my downstairs windows (they're about 4ft by 2ft) and I decorated them to match the huge wreath on my barn wall. I simply attached the balls with wire. They were light and I tied them to the windows (with a wide ribbon at the top and sides to match the large wreath) so they wouldn't be blown away by a strong winter wind and they wouldn't bang loudly on the windows. I was able to arrange them for easy access from the inside without dropping them. And they don't block the beautiful view from the outside. They looked fantastic from the street. I'm happy. Of course, they would be too small for a large window. For windows of the same size at the top I used slightly larger wreaths, from the street they all look the same size. I recommend them.
