I bought this grinder but ended up sending it back. First, the one I received was previously used. When I unpacked it I could tell that someone had used it and repackaged it. Also found coffee grounds in the machine. But since I was impatient and excited to try it out, I set it up anyway. This machine looks VERY cool and is easy to set up to start using. I loved the color red. One red flag right off the bat is that there is no cold brew grind setting for the grind selector titles, and there is a percolator setting (!)! WHY? Anyone else use percolators? I suppose the Moka pot could be considered a percolator, but they generally use a finer grind than the percolator setting would give. There is a french press setting that can also be used for cold brew grinds as they tend to be tight, but french press grinds are too fine in my opinion. This machine seems to make a very good espresso, but I don't have an espresso machine. At home I prefer draft coffee, iced coffee, french press, moka coffee maker and filter coffee maker. It is possible to take out the top blade of the burr and adjust it finer or coarser, but I followed the directions, spent about an hour trying different sizes and it made almost no difference. It's quiet for an electric coffee grinder, which has been great and has NOT had any issues with static cling to coffee grounds and/or chaff. I really like the digital display but wish it could measure weight and not the number of cups of coffee which can vary so much from person to person, country to country etc. coarser grind suitable for cold brewing and french press, I would definitely keep it and be very happy with it. It seems to me that this machine is best suited for those who primarily brew espresso, mocha, drip coffee or other finer grind methods. In my opinion, KitchenAid missed a great opportunity when designing this beautiful machine. Just a few of the best designs and this thing could be AMAZING and very popular. I would love to keep it because it looked so cool on my counter along with other coffee essentials! I ended up buying the Baratza which has a MUCH better range of grinds. It's not as pretty as KitchenAid and it's annoyingly noisy, but for my purposes it's a lot better. Sorry KitchenAid, but this coffee grinder missed the mark.
