I think the product does what it promises. It's only 2 inches wide, so when you fold it, it's only 1 inch. My cat has already done more damage. So I used 3 pieces of these 8 inches long. then place then folded 1 of the pieces. I removed the tape from all 3 and then glued 1 2" pieces to each side of the folded piece so I had about 3" on each side of the corner. I then completely removed the glue on the extensions. I drilled 3 small holes along the extensions and used antique furniture tactics to attach the slipcovers to my sofa. So with this configuration, you have a corner that is 8 inches long and extends around each side of the corner of the sofa by about three inches. I decided to remove the glue so it would leave marks on the fabric of the sofa.
