Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Your Audio with the Speakercraft Aim 7 Two In-Ceiling Pivoting Speaker (EACH) by William Hunter

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Save some money and buy a better sounding speaker.

I will only compare this column with those in its price range. In particular, both the Polk MC80 (about 10% cheaper) and the Micca M-8C (less than half the price) sound much better than this unit. The Polk MC80 has the cleanest and smoothest sound of the three, with the Micca M-8C coming in second, but the Aim 7 falls far short of the comparison on all counts: - It sounds harsher and harsher in the high frequencies. - Its low frequencies sound more distorted and less detailed and slightly weaker. - Its soundstage is much flatter. This comparison applies to the volume range from "quiet" to "medium loud". . The M-8C has a pivoting tweeter that spins no less than this one. If you **need** a tilted woofer, consider the Monoprice 4929 - for half the price you get a wider angle and probably a better driver (didn't test it, but reviews were consistently good). Expressed differently. , the MC80 and M-8C are almost as good as decent bookshelf speakers, while the Aim 7 sounds like in-ceiling speakers, making in-ceiling speakers notorious. The best built-in laptop speakers, but do you really want to go there?
