Review on 🎮 Gigaware Gaming Component Cable - Universal with Switch [Model 26-1542] by Ricky Bedell

I purchased this item to connect my PS2, Wii and Xbox 360 to my 16 console gaming rig with my CRT SDTV. Since my TV supports it I wanted to use component video on any console that supports it and I needed component cables and another component switch to connect to my existing setup and being a combo box it seemed smart to be. option as it is a good price. I like the quality of these cables, they are not very thick but appear to be adequately shielded, give a good picture and crisp colors and make no audible noise when properly connected. (Note: don't mix up the red wires) I only took off one star because, as other reviewers have pointed out, it has its downsides. The first glaring issue is that the cables are short, VERY SHORT, from the junction box to the consoles about 3 feet and from the junction box to the TV, for a total of 6 feet, I wish it was a foot longer. on the console side, because while you can always use extension cords for RCA plugs to your TV, you can't move this box further from the consoles if you need more clearance at that end. I suppose this isn't a problem if your systems are close to the TV, but if it's a long distance it will cause some problems. The next problem is that the box is a little light, so flops, unless you use double-sided tape or velcro to hold it in place. The last issue I had was that this cable is hardwired into the Xbox 360's HDTV output, for some reason they chose not to use the switch to select SDTV or HDTV. The only way to fix this is to open the 360 connector and solder the switch. It's easy for me, but other people might not want to do it. However, this may not apply to you if you are using cable with a modern day HDTV. However, I really like this cable/switch combo, it meets my needs with good quality and a great price.
