Bought this ashtray for off road driving in an Audi A4. I mention the car not to sound pretentious, but to say it fits perfectly in the cup holder, doesn't rattle. We've never used a lighter, but the LED flashlight lasts forever before needing to be recharged. It takes 2-3 hours to fully charge again. The light is bright enough to see where your cigarette is going, but not so bright as to distract the driver. We also like that it comes with a lid to keep the ashtray from smoking after you put out your cigarette. We had a cheap car ashtray on a previous trip and always had to put some water on the floor to keep the smoke from escaping. Neither my husband nor I had any trouble finding an ashtray to stub out a cigarette while driving. The metal grid at the top is ideal for putting out cigarette butts. I would say it holds 20 to 30 cigarette butts. Press the button and pull the top up to open. Once you get the hang of it, you're good to go. The pivoting ashtray drain cap can be a bit tricky to put back on. Align the notches on the lid with the holes and screw tight. Don't try to align the line drawing of the lid and cup when you put the lid on, or you'll never put it on. It doesn't hold lit cigarettes very well. You have to balance it in a certain way, and every bump or curve in the road will throw your cigarette in the ashtray. You must hold the cigarette when you ride it, otherwise there is a risk that it will fall into the ashtray. I would definitely buy this again. It was one of the best purchases of our trip.
