This roller foot is ideal for fabrics that cannot be fed with the normal presser foot. I sew a lot of clothes and accessories from faux leather, real leather and suede. Most of the time, the normal foot will work on faux leather, but on real suede, leather, or "sticky" faux leather, this foot makes the job a lot easier. The teflon itself would probably slide over most fabrics, but this foot also has a rolling ball on the bottom. The ball rotates smoothly and does not allow the fabric to become lumps. I use this foot on a Brother snap-on sewing machine.
