Review on 🚀 RocketU 1144E - High Point's Versatile USB 3.0 HB Controller for Reliable 5Gb/s Connectivity by Deshaun Fisher

I recently sold my Hackintosh and bought a used 2009 Mac Pro. I have multiple external USB 3.0 and/or eSATA devices, none of which are supported by the Mac Pro. This card seemed like the best option to me, so I bought it. The installation went smoothly and the first boot after the installation went smoothly. However, so far only USB 3.0 ports work. None of my eSATA devices are recognized by the system. Some of my external drives have both ports; Mac Pro "sees" drives when connected via USB 3.0, but does not see them when connected via eSATA. I also found that my Seagate 3TB USB 3.0 external drive spins down when the system goes to sleep. I have to unplug it and plug it back in before the system recognizes it again. Hopefully a Google search will turn up some useful tips to get the eSATA ports working. If not, I'll have to buy a Newertech eSATA card and get a different slot. UPDATE: It is now August 2014 and I am very happy with this card. Downloading and installing the HighPoint driver solved the eSATA issues. They lose a star if they don't provide the card with a driver or even add a note letting you know you need to download a driver. Oh, and a Seagate external hard drive? The problem was with the outer case interface board, not the HighPoint controller board. I took out the drive, put it in another box and it works fine.
