
I bought this because the Ignitor II kit didn't work at my aftermarket dealer. This distributor has a GM style cap and centrifugal ignition. The cap is slightly larger where it attaches to the manifold. Because of this I had to modify the bracket that supports my factory air compressor, but other than that it was a great fit. I also bought a coil and power relay to apply 12 volts to the coil and bypass the pink wire resistor. The sync is not where the initial sync should be. I started tracking and continued test driving and advancing until the engine ran better, started easily and hummed. The initial timestamp is off the charts, so I measured from the vacuum lead to the A/C compressor for reference. I've only installed it a few days, so I can't cover the reliability issues in some of the posts. I intend to carry a spare Ignitor II unit, spare tools and a piece of jumper in the car, just in case. The wire should jump from the battery to the coil in case the relay fails. This device has made my engine so much better that it is worth every effort to get it running.
