When we moved into our apartment the beige carpet was not changed and the room needed some paint. We laid a Safavieh rug (8x10) over an existing living room rug and it looks great. If you are wondering if the colors shown on the carpet pictures are correct, they are. We also bought a 6ft round version of the same model for our dining area to put under our small round dining table and a 2ft 3" x 7ft runner for the short hallway to the Kitchen. The set of 3 looks great. together. The only mat of the three that moves on the bottom carpet are the runners in the hallway. We live in Central Florida and the added benefit of the thickness of the carpet on top of the carpet is that it keeps the air conditioning appearing cool so it's actually cool to walk around the apartment. We walk around the apartment barefoot and the carpets feel a lot thick and plush under our feet.
