The bamboo lid on the unit I received is fairly narrow, which means there is a significant gap between the lid and the sides of the ceramic bowl. This also meant that the screws were barely holding the lid on, and there was almost 1/4" of the unsightly screw threads visible on either side of the lid. I ended up drilling slightly larger holes into the bamboo lid and replacing the screws with larger ones that I had available. After these improvements the bowl works quite well, but the fit & finish on the unit as shipped was pretty poor.
