This stuff was practically always the same. And for a good reason. I use this method of tube mounting on most rims. Take your time during installation and also pay attention to flat rims: it is thicker than some other rim tape options and can interfere with some tires. In my experience, this has never been a big problem, but it can happen. I would also not recommend it if the bike gets wet regularly as it is a fabric and can retain moisture. I've bought it dozens of times over the years and will continue to do so. Works fine for me every time.
