I bought this for my hockey stick. In the past, players have used regular hockey tape, but I felt that hockey tape was partially responsible for the wear on the palms of my hockey gloves. Enter catching the tennis racket! Made a big difference. Doesn't stick when wet. Lasts longer than hockey tape. And my hypothesis turned out to be correct - my gloved palms didn't wear out like they would when using regular hockey tape. The thought that if I'm not using it on a fairly standard grip length tennis racquet, I'd rather have a roll that I can cut to size.
