The field of view was the main reason I bought this camera. I put a mark on both sides at the green/yellow intersection on the camera, then I dragged a ruler from mark to mark, measured the distance (95 inches), divided 95 inches by 2 to get the opposite side, and then measured the distance from the camera to the straight edge (44 inches) (adjacent side). Then I calculated the arc tangent of 47.5"/44" = 47.191° by multiplying it by 2 = 94.381°, which is much smaller than the 170° given angle. For a 95" target to work, the adjacent side would need to be 4.156", not 44" like mine. Tan (85°) = 47.5 inches / 4.156 inches. The camera has a good clear picture. It has visible white LEDs for night vision. They do not affect the image quality at night due to reflections.
