I bought these rods for trout fishing in the Rocky Mountains. I needed a collapsible cane that could be worn on my belt while still being easy to use when I needed it. The big requirement was that the profiles snap into place when extended. When fishing in these fast moving currents my other rods invariably caught on the rocks underwater and came loose at the worst possible moment. This pole worked great. These are high quality aluminum poles. I'm 6'1" and 250 pounds and these poles kept me in fast currents with no problem. On the third day I lost the rubber tip on the pole because I forgot to take it off before going in the water. I usually take it off after use to go to my favorite spot, but I forgot. I wrote to High Stream Gear on their website when I came back to see if I could buy a replacement. A few days later, a package containing two new tips and baskets showed up at my door absolutely free. Great answer to what was completely my fault. That there are two bars of this quality at this price is fantastic.
