Review on πŸš— Advanced Weivision Super HD 1080P Car 360 Degree Bird View Surround System DVR Record Backup Camera: Ultimate Parking Monitoring with Sony Sensor by Scott Mcgowan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you think about it, do it!

UPDATE 2/17/19: The system has been working fine since installing it two months ago. However, I managed to lose the remote control (blame it on my 4 and 5 year olds). I messaged the seller and he sent me a new one (free) from China with no obligation. A few weeks ago, the front camera started showing rainbows/jamming/noise over the video signal. I contacted Weivision and they immediately responded with some troubleshooting suggestions. However, when I had a chance to try them out, the problem was solved. Then, last week, the backup camera turned all yellow. I disconnected/reconnected all wiring harnesses from the camera and main unit but the problem was not solved. I took a screenshot and sent it to Weivision. Despite the weekend, they responded within a few hours and sent me replacement cameras! Incredible service! Although it would be better if there were no problems, sometimes it is through these problems that you get to know the seller and how he treats his customers. In this case, I am very impressed with their speed and generosity. ------------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW 12/15/18: I installed this on my 2011 Sequoia Limited. I have previously replaced the stock head unit with a Hizpo Android head unit which has a bigger, sharper screen and MUCH more functionality than the factory radio. Installation took about 5 hours and took two days. I could have done it twice as fast but I was very careful how to route the cables without leaving any installation marks. The included cables were long enough to reach the main unit, which I installed under the passenger seat. The cable to the rear camera had a remaining length of about 6 inches, so it was very narrow. The rear camera is exactly the same size as the standard rear camera. However, there are no attachment points. Remove the original camera and "glue" the new camera in place with two pieces of tape (for holding) while the black caulk dries. No trimming or cutting required so everything is reversible. Mirror so I can run the cable through the existing recess. The effort was worth it because there are no more installation tracks (except for the cameras). The front camera was installed under the bonnet grille, the grille on the bumper moves with the hood. I routed an additional coax/RCA cable from the back of the main unit to the passenger seat, plus DC (Battery) 12V, Auxiliary 12V, Remote Control. a trigger wire (to switch to the rear input) and a reverse signal l wire (to tell the Weivision unit that the truck is reversing). None of the wiring required the cutting/splicing of factory wires. There were no changes to the parts of the car (except for holes in the side mirrors) that cannot be flipped. Calibration was a bit tedious due to the windy conditions. I ended up taking the car to my shed where I had more control over the surroundings. And it seems to have worked as the cameras render just as well as my wife's Highlander Platinum 2018 and her factory surround view. In fact, I like this unit more because it has the following features that Toyota Surround doesn't have: 1) Record all channels. Imagine being accused of running a red light. The front camera captures the moment when the traffic light turns red. Side cameras that capture the position of your front wheels show you exactly where the wheels are in relation to the stop bar as the light rotates. Priceless. And my headlights don't work. 2) Turn signals change the view to the other side of the vehicle. This makes it perfect when trying to squeeze through a tight spot or when you need to see exactly how close you are to a curb/object. 3) Digital adjustment of individual cameras. Each view can be manipulated (without affecting the combined 3D image) to suit your expectations. Want to see more of a towbar than the face of the person in the car behind you? Just adjust the view down with the remote control. 4) Vibration recording even when parking. If someone bumps into your parked car, the device will wake up and start recording. So he watches over your vehicle like a security guard even when you're not there. I'm sure there are more benefits that I haven't found yet. But for the money, it's probably one of the most practical and safest things you can add to a car. I'm seriously considering adding it to my Tundra (which I rarely ride).
