I don't like having a fan and don't need one, but these little stands have helped get my laptop to the perfect working height and prevent that I have him to buy an unnecessary fan for my laptop. Before using them, I made sure the bottom of my laptop was completely clean and dry. I then attached them to the bottom and turned my laptop over to stand on these stands. I didn't open them right away, I waited about 24 hours before opening part of the stand. I did this just to make sure the sticky part was fully adhered to my laptop. The next day I opened the coasters and they have never shifted since I've used them. When I'm done and want to put my laptop down, I just snap the stands into place. Even when the stands aren't engaged I still get a little lift, but when they're up I get better lift and my laptop's fan pulls a lot of air from the bottom. Great alternative to a fan.
