I have tried several different sharpening systems and sharpeners in my life and without a doubt the DMT DuoSharp is the best I have personally used. The stone is very effective, has both a rough and a fine side and is well finished. I will have this stone for the rest of my life and my son will probably inherit it when I'm gone. If you are looking for a stone to turn a damaged or totally unsharpened edge into a razor blade then this is the one for you. If you require a more polished edge then Fine, Extra Fine is for you. These two stones can be used to sharpen, hone, and then polish anything from a pocket knife to an ax to a Samara sword. I am currently working on making a replica of my son's Hattori Hanzo sword blade with a razor sharp edge. This is an expensive stone, but keep this in mind. You get what you pay for! I would buy it again!
