We mounted our door securely to the back of a core door using lever anchors, #8 sheet metal screws and washers. To keep the block from rocking we used a leather punch through the seams and secured it in the same manner as the top. The block definitely feels more durable than the plastic/vinyl blocks available in most grocery store laundry aisles, but it CANNOT hold twelve pairs of oversized shoes as advertised. We bought mine to store sneakers and they only fit three pairs of men's size 11 and three pairs of women's size 9 1/2 (both medium). To keep them, we had to leave every other line blank.
