It was way more than I expected for the price. It's plastic but looks like wood and honestly, will your dog recognize it? no I wish it was bigger because it says "large" but it is absolutely NOT suitable for large breed dogs. My dog is a beagle and she just fits on it curled up to lie down, if she wanted to stretch out she wouldn't have much room to do so. So nothing bigger than a Beagle will fit! It would be nice if the bed frame was higher off the floor. It looks like this in the picture and it's not really "raised" so I'm planning on having my friend make a better bottom for it. The pillow is good but it's really small I definitely wouldn't sleep on it! So I covered mine with a fluffy blanket to make the dog a little more comfortable. I haven't tried cleaning it as I haven't had it that long. The dog doesn't really like it, but that's because he's spoiled and wants to sleep in my bed (that I can't sleep in it with her because it definitely takes up little space for a small dog - the whole point of buying a bed ) However, she's used to it because it's her bed. I also bought her a large blanket to keep warm because she loves to lie under the blanket and wrap herself in it! She falls asleep as soon as I make her lol. So if you have a small to medium sized dog this works wonders and is well worth the price you are paying. I used to pay a lot for a stupid pillow on the floor and since she's my baby I don't see how I could get her to sleep on it! So it's nice. It makes your dog feel like they have their own "real bed" and I feel better knowing they aren't just lying on a flimsy pillow. The product says it can be cleaned, you just need to remove the outer cover from the mattress and it is machine washable. Once I've tried it I'll be sure to update if I run into any problems!
