Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ KONNWEI KW208 12V Car Battery Tester: Reliable Digital Auto Battery Analyzer for Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Boat, and More by Tony Basler

Disagree with Ford's super expensive tester. Documentation is sorely lacking.

Initially I liked this device. It has good build quality and looks well made. When I first plugged it in, I was told to replace the battery and that my charging system was fine. My battery is under warranty and I took it to Ford who has a very expensive tester and battery warranty tests over an hour. Ford tester shows that it is good. Ford's CCA test showed that my 760 CCA battery could deliver over 800 amps. Their other tests were about the same - Ford says my battery is still fine, Konnwei says it's not. Coming home without a new battery, I tested my battery, waited a few minutes, tested again, waited, tested again. I have different readings every time. Then they hesitated. One value can be higher or lower than another. Overall, I don't feel like I can trust this meter for battery life. The documentation provided is sparse. They give a brief overview of setup and testing and define shortcuts, but nothing explains what you're testing. I mention this because the text says it's easy to use for a beginner. It's easy to use but not easy to understand. You can choose, for example, DIN. My battery has a DIN number but it doesn't match what the tester suggests and I have no information on how to apply the data. It's sad to see how it works. For the price and quality I thought it would have a permanent place in my garage.
