The sound quality is excellent with both headphones and microphones. I chat a lot online on Zoom and Discord and people I speak to say the mic sounds great. The cord seems strong as it is wrapped in fabric. The backlight is cool but I don't use it often as I'm not a streamer who shows my face at the camera while playing games or similar. They connect your computer to a 1/8" mic and audio jack (just one plug), but it will pair with a splitter unless you have a newer type of plug that works with both mic and audio. You connect USB only for the lighting. It doesn't play sound or microphone from USB, just turn on the light. Overall I think it's a good sounding headset for the price. Sound quality is good, bass is good, treble is good. Not audiophile quality, but suitable for the casual listener
