Water pump gasket not included

It fits perfectly on a 2012 Acura MDX, the only issue I had was that they didn't include a water pump gasket. I didn't notice it until late last night when I started installing the pump. So I had to stop work and bought it at Auto Zone the next day for $3.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Impressed with details

This comes with EXTREMELY detailed instructions. The pictures could have been bigger and better printed but I won't given how complete the kit was. There was even a compartment for storing parts in the kit. I didn't even want to change my pump but when I saw it I had confidence in the quality of this pump and proceeded with the installation. All details appear to be of high quality. No regret.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Update available

Water pump leak.

I always recommend my part-timers to buy Gates or Aisin because of their factory fitment, the fact that they come with idler pulleys and I've never had a problem with the belt length. After installing this particular kit on a 2005 Burr I found I had a coolant leak from the timing case cover and realized it was coming from the water pump housing! The o-ring has not been cut, snapped, torn or pinched between the housing but is still leaking! Looks like I'll be buying Aisin from now on.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Timing Belt Kit for Honda Pilot

My 2nd water pump which was installed about 7 years ago started leaking so it's time for my 3rd water pump and timing belt kit. My mechanic recommended this kit and installed it for me. He likes this set very much and recommends it to others. The installation went well and my car no longer loses coolant, I'm very happy about that. Now I can drive my car for another 7 years or 105,000 km and I don't have to worry about the timing belt or the water pump. I would recommend this kit.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some problems

Water pump failure at 21,000 km!

I will no longer buy Gates timing belt/water pump kits. The water pump only ran 21,000 miles before it started leaking. After an hour on the phone with Revain, they decided to send me another set for free. I think they just wanted to talk to me on the phone. In the future I will be buying Gates timing belt/part kits just without the water pump. Install a factory water pump and you'll have no problems for over 100,000 miles. When you need quality auto repair in Southwest Ohio

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

compared them alongside OEM Honda parts I subtracted.

I used this kit to service my wife's 2012 Honda Odyssey. I'm always looking for the highest quality parts for my cars because I don't want to do the work twice, so I've always had good luck with Gates products. This kit was no different and I took the time to compare the new parts to the stock Honda parts and each part was made with the same bearings, casting thickness and part quality. I believe I should be able to get another 100,000 of these parts. maybe more.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Fuck peeper! Belts tick and beat for a year

Spanner sucks! Year-round belt ticking and slapping definitely doesn't do justice to the "harsh" ride. The delivery is excellent, the price is more than reasonable. The quality of the hydraulic tensioner completely changes all the advantages of buying this kit. TO UPDATE! The water pump doesn't work either! Purchased December 2016, fast forward to July 2018 and 6,000 miles; I noticed that the coolant level started to drop and dropped a little. When I replaced the rocker sole. The gasket clearly

100,000 miles. from the first set

Used the same set on my 2006 Pilot with 100,000 miles. I just installed the 2nd at 200000. The tensioner from the first set leaked a little oil and the water pump seal started dripping back a few miles leaving a nasty blue mess. The belt looked perfect. So, in my opinion, the original kit was a 100,000-mile hit. The tensioner from the new kit clearly comes from a different production. Didn't look as "substantial" as the older one. However, I have no idea if that makes it any better or not, just

Don't waste your time and energy

Don't waste your time and energy. Water pump failed after 12 months/40,000 miles. Absolute rubbish. If this water pump was even remotely worthy of an OEM pump, it would last at least 150,000 miles. I'm disgusted that I have to spend another 5-7 hours fixing my car to replace a part I replaced a year ago. The only reason I replaced my OEM pump is because I changed the timing belt at the recommended interval. It's not the money I spent on parts that upsets me. It's the time and inconvenience I…
