Review on πŸ“± Wireless IR Remote Controller for 5050 3528 RGB LED Strip Lights - BZONE 2-Port with Dual 4-pin Output, Dimmer for 2pcs RGB LED Strips DC12-24V by Kristen Rivera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A quick and easy solution for remotely controlling 12V DC low power LED lighting.

Purchased to order manual dimmer for 2 16ft. LED strip kits on the ceiling of my room. Very easy to install. This is where things diverge a bit. The remote control is too small, like it's meant to be attached to a bunch of keys! Possibly possible for camper use. I hate button placement. Stupid. They should only have 3 regular buttons to toggle brightness on/off instead of weird sizes. The dimming range is good. Goes from near full brightness without abrupt changes. The problem is that it uses PWM and makes the LED flicker badly, like an old dim fluorescent lamp. I added a 500uF capacitor to the output which helps, but now it doesn't dim as much as it did without it. I also know why. The cap holds charge during the PWM off cycle. The big problem is the random switching on and off at any time of the day or night! I wake up at 3am to the light! So they have to use some really primitive method of transmitting signals from the console. Poor protection against IMO interfering signals. My power supply is a large AGM battery with no inverter. The input voltage must be cleaner than the power supply! I'll try to keep using it as long as the random on/off doesn't get too annoying.
