Review on DataStax by Tim Venkatasubramanian

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One of the best NoSQL databases I've used

One thing about Data Stax which I like best out all NoSQL databases was how simple yet powerful its query language has been built upon. It's very intuitive even though not as well known or used compared other DBMSs but still worth trying if you're considering moving away from RDBms. Especially when your requirements include storing large amounts Bigdata with minimal hardware resources require. The only problem i faced while using Data Stax was dealing mainly because my experience level at working within this tool wasn't sufficient enough unlike others who have deeper experiences than me so took some time getting use too. However once familiarized myself the tools capabilities everything else fell into place smoothly after understanding their architecture patterns & features better.

Pros
  • Simple to learn
  • Easy deployment of services in cloud environment.
  • Powerful Query Language (MQL)
  • Compatible across multiple OSes
  • Fully Transactional Database Management System that supports ACID compliant transactions without sacrificing performance due it being distributed database management system running over cluster nodes.
  • High Availability
  • Multiple data centers support
Cons
  • Empty
