Review on 🔒 Trimaco Butyl II: Durable 4ft x 15ft Two Layer Poly-Back Canvas Drop Cloth by Justin Rashid

Oil and Vinegar for Paint, Wall Care Products and Supplies

From the description it is clear that PE-lined canvas should be a great combination for fabric, and it is. Just not in this product. This drop is a simple canvas with a very thin, very delicate layer of clear polyethylene. This material is thinner than a grocery bag. On its very first use, this layer does what it's supposed to do, preventing liquids in the droplets from penetrating the surface below, but after a short period of use, the polyester begins to separate from the canvas, crack, and otherwise deteriorate. The whole drop is useless to prevent leakage. Don't even try to wash that drip, as all you left in the washing machine is lumps of rolled-up polyethylene all over the place. Even during use, the polyester layer wears out after a while, even by walking lightly on the parquet floor in the hallway. Compared to other rags with similar technology, this is the cheapest fabric on the market and its durability proves why. In my shop I can't afford to have a drop of paint on a finished surface so this product ends up being used alongside regular canvas blobs (since the PE backing is gone anyway). I will use higher quality butyl based drops for critical areas.
