Review on 🍨 OXO Good Grips Adjustable Scoop by Tyrone Lyons

Update 28 September 2016: a year has passed and this sensation is still relevant. I've used it in my ice pack freezer and it works great. I've since bought another one that I use for flour and it's good too, although it doesn't get as much use or stress as my ice cream scoop. This is a great product. Initial Review: I was initially hesitant to purchase this ice cream scoop when metal spoons were available at similar prices. Finally I thought, isn't metal better than plastic? Also, this scoop has a strange egg shape, unlike what ice scoops usually look like. There is no need to reinvent the wheel! All I needed was a plain old ice cream scoop. However, after reading reviews of metal shovels, it seems like all cheap ones have quality issues (perhaps not surprisingly, how can a good metal shovel sell for $5 or $6?). Unlike cheap metal shovels, this one has impressive reviews. Decided to trust previous reviews and buy. I'm glad I did! The quality of this shovel is excellent and I love it! Advantages: 1) The blade's egg shape is due to it being narrow at the end and curved in a way that allows it to be cast with great precision. The end of the spoon easily fits into drinking glasses, never leaving ice on the bottom. If you're using it for something else, like rice or flour, I think you'll also appreciate the more precise pouring you can do with this scoop compared to a regular wide-mouth scoop. 2) The scoop holds about a cup. . When used with ice, a full scoop usually gives me the exact amount I want in a large 21 oz. Cup. I use a lot of ice in my drinks so it's likely that most people who use it as an ice cream scoop will never need more than one for drinks. 3) The plastic is smooth and the handle is comfortable to hold. 4) Because it's plastic, it can be stored in the freezer or ice bucket and won't feel uncomfortably cold. 5) It's BPA-free (I don't see anything about it in Revain's listing, but OXO says it's BPA-free on their website.) Cons: I can't think of any cons for this product. I've only been using it for a month so I'll update my review if I have any durability issues. I love this scoop and recommend it to everyone.
