I've tried repeatedly to use this tool to strip wire with wrap #30. It didn't touch the insulation and in 20 or 30 attempts by me and 3- 4 others in our electronics group didn't strip a single wire. It took a little practice, but standard wire cutters will get it right every time. I had a particularly thin wire that was only 1/2 inch long and needed to be stripped. It was returned for full recognition. Maybe if you don't NEED to strip that little wire it might be useful, but not for this specific purpose. .
