My cat is claustrophobic and doesn't like being held at all. So the harness she has to climb into is out of the question. She is not allowed to be outside without a leash. This one has velcro on all sides so I just have to hold it long enough to lower the strap section and then I can hold it with the ring to put the other part on top. The clip is a good safety feature as sometimes I put her on a leash and she gets caught on something and so tries to break free of her leash. It would have worked without the clip. However, the end hanging from the clip is a bit long and she doesn't like it hanging in front of her face. So I have to hold it for another minute to try and fold it under the straps so it doesn't bother her. Overall, this is the best small animal harness I've found. The third time is a charm as I can't lose my baby and I love letting him out in the fresh air and romping around.
