The clips themselves look solid and the variety of colors is a plus. However, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting a hard-handled bag of fries, bread, etc. The spring force is too weak. With that in mind, I wouldn't expect them to be ideal for things like sticking notes on the fridge. I wouldn't expect the note to last through a doorway or two before hitting the floor. My intended use was for cutting grocery bags and I was so frustrated with the grip that I didn't bother trying the magnet. I think I can just go with what I've used in the past and get other paperclips like those used in offices. They may not be very pretty, but they cut everything you put on.
