I am very disappointed in this chair and really don't understand why there are so many 5 star reviews or why it is marked 'Revain's Choice'. I decided to write this review because I feel an alternative opinion needs to be included for people researching their purchase. While this chair meets most of the ergonomic adjustment parameters, it just doesn't do it very well. which I like very much. The chair is fairly easy to assemble and well packaged. Some adjustment options such as seat depth and swiveling armrests are usually only found in more expensive chairs. One feature I really like is that the reclining backrest has enough tension when unlocked that you don't have to lock it. It moves when pressed and stays where you left off until you move again. This, combined with the headrest and mesh back, makes lying down easy and comfortable. Unfortunately, that's about all the positive things I can say about this chair. Now for the negative. The seat cushion has very little padding and is so flimsy that it looks like you're sitting on a board. Revain's description says it has a high-density foam seat. In fact, it's very weak and definitely not what I expected from a high-density pad. When you press the center of the seat, it's almost effortless to grope through the solid base. The next step is adjusting the seat height. The seat cannot be raised high enough. It feels like it was designed primarily for people of smaller stature or children. The instructions say they will replace the gas spring with a longer one if need be, but why not design with enough height first, and who wants to take the chair apart again to fix it. More adjustable armrests. Revain's description states that they are covered in soft padding. For me the padding is very stiff and too thin. The arms are adjustable up and down but not low enough. I doubt anyone would use this feature unless they like having their arms raised unusually high. The sliding/rotating pads are nice features, but it would be better if they could be locked as they move easily if accidentally pressed. More adjustable lumbar support. Although the height can be adjusted, this feature is inefficient and almost useless as the support doesn't touch the back of the net until you lean on it, and even then it barely touches it. The upper positions touch more, but this is not an ergonomically correct placement. I think most people will just ignore this feature because the mesh density at the back of this range may seem sufficient, but if you want more, this setting won't provide it. Next comes the headrest. When I first assembled it, it didn't stay where you set it. It would just fall. I finally figured out that you can tighten it by turning the end screws while holding one screw and tightening the other with two hex wrenches. The key size is smaller than the one supplied. So unless you have two keys of that size of your own, you're out of luck. Now I'm faced with the decision of whether I can live with these problems or prefer to give back. Returning means the need to disassemble and repackage the device. The very flimsy seat pad will likely be a handicap for me unless I can find a way to add some of my own padding. (FYI, I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 170 pounds, a person of not unusual proportions)
