Review on Vecta by Josh Cardoso
Vecta is a web based tool for creating vector graphics.
Vecta does not seem to offer much beyond what a free drawing app could do. I was looking for something to allow our team to collaborate on design ideas for an ecommerce site and came across Vecta. After downloading it I did not see any collaboration features. My team needed to share diagrams, but instead of working together, we spent hours making them, and then uploaded them back to Vecta where they would never be shared. We could not comment on any changes, because it required us to create accounts and log in each time we wanted to upload new changes. If I wanted to change the overall layout of the site, I would have to recreate the whole thing again. This is a huge time saver for us, and I'm sure many other designers/developers.
Pros
- Allows for multiple users to work on the same design simultaneously without having to log into another service to comment on your changes.
- The tool makes it easy to make changes to the overall layout, such as rearranging buttons or moving a sidebar from one side of the screen to the other.
Cons
- The lack of collaboration capabilities.
- Not being able to access comments when you upload a new version of the site.
