Review on UMIDIGI A9 Cell Phone by Jason Man

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality budget phone

This phone is a budget phone - it is very cheap and has no obvious problems. Don't expect this to be a flagship phone and you won't be disappointed. I have bought many Umidigi products in the past and some models and devices have major problems but this does not seem to be the case. Phone. The general build quality is very good. The back is made of plastic, but it is high-quality plastic and its texture and shape make the phone comfortable to hold. The texture on the plastic is really very nice. The volume, power button and programmable button all have a nice click, and overall the build quality of the phone is excellent. Considering the battery side of the phone, the phone is fairly thin and light (at least compared to other phones with screens and similarly sized batteries. The phone comes with a plastic screen protector pre-installed - I'd recommend switching to a glass one). It also comes with a transparent plastic case, but the case isn't very good: it feels slippery and cheap. Phone but it doesn't look like stock Android. There are only 2 preinstalled blower apps. The first is a thermometer app and the second is a walkie-talkie app (I managed to uninstall the walkie-talkie app). Despite the absence of malware, the software also lacks features. The settings menu is missing numerous settings that should be there, e.g. B. the ability to activate the app drawer, gesture control, etc. The phone also came with developer options. Per-Enabled Mode As long as I'm not missing any major features, this is a super weird version of Android. It comes with Play Store and Google apps. The programmable button actually has no function other than opening apps. The fingerprint scanner, while not very fast, feels pretty reliable. Battery life is decent, but not as good as the battery size suggests. However, you should be able to get through a full day of moderate use and it charges fairly quickly (10W). The processor is quite slow, I didn't think this phone would run games or other CPU intensive apps well. It also only has 3GB of RAM, so opening apps is pretty slow too. It's about what you'd expect from a phone in this segment and it doesn't bother me that much. Phone connection is good - GPS, WIFI and Bluetooth work fine. You may need to work with your service provider to connect to 4G. The phone probably won't get 4G until you link your IMEI and ICCID. I completed this process by calling my ISP's support, but in theory you could also do this through your ISP's website. This is a process you need to follow every time you use a phone that your carrier doesn't specifically support or sell. tldr: This is a budget phone, it has good build quality and no obvious issues, although the Android version is weird.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
