Review on ๐ŸŽง ROCCAT Elo 7.1 Air Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset - 24hr Battery Life, Superhuman Hearing, AIMO RGB Lighting, PC-Compatible - Black by Kathy Jaramillo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good score for 100, sound quality with no bass

UPDATE June 2021: Last update, have been using this headset very seldom lately. I got some rest and decided to use the headset for a good couple of 12 hour sessions and the headset worked very well, took a while to charge, connected quickly and did its job well. Still works well and the battery life lasted many hours. UPDATE: 2 months after purchase I can confirm that this Elo Air headset is having problems connecting to the dongle. It often takes 3-4 minutes to reconnect the dongle and cycle the headset before the audio connection is actually established. While using a USB extension cable to remove the installation key does help improve sound quality, the headset still experiences some connection issues when the computer is turned on or switched to headset mode. UPDATE: 4 weeks after purchase. Bought a USB extension cable and installed the Elo Air Dongle away from the interference from my rig and other electronics and the static issues were gone. The battery life remains solid, definitely not 24 hours. The battery only lasts a few hours before the earbuds prompt for a charge. After all, the headphones can be used during the charging process. The sound quality has definitely improved since I removed the interference, but there's still not much bass and I turned the Bass Boost all the way up in the swarm settings. For a wireless gaming headset, they get the job done, but since they cost $100 and are made by such a reputable company, I expect a little more from the Roccat. Shooting down a star because they really should only be Bluetooth would be less of a problem if they only ran those Bluetooths. UPDATE: 3 weeks after purchase the battery life is not good. The battery level in the app is not correct at all, the app even says that at 100% there are only 15 hours of usage left. For me the battery is sufficient, seems to last a whole session, I just plug in the charger when going afk for any period of time. The battery only lasted a few hours for me. I ordered a USB extension cable and will install the Elo key so that it doesn't interfere with the extension cable. hopefully this will solve some small static issues sometimes. Although the microphone is pretty solid. The backlight of the headset is pleasant. The headset remains very comfortable with some darn good noise cancellation for the price. UPDATE: 2 weeks after purchase, the battery life is good and stable 20+ hours maybe 24 exactly, but the battery gauge in the app shows wrong, says 50% when the battery is dead, so the app notification is useless. The earbuds have a few connection issues, but reinserting the dongle usually fixes the connection. The original review: Well, Turtle Beach partners with Roccat, and now the Elo Air wireless headset is worth a $100 premium. so i got them today and had a long gaming session with them. So it was confusing to install and run at first due to the weird auto-shutoff included by default, but I disabled the auto-shutoff feature in the Swarm software and the problem was gone. The headset is packed with configuration settings in the software that any avid gamer will appreciate. Pros: Very comfortable on the head, self-regulating. even great for glasses. Various settings can be made using the SWARM software. for non-specialist nerds who won't change it to software. The mic can pick up an ant crawling 30 feet away, so a software denoiser is definitely required. The battery level is 15 hours at 100%, I'm not sure if the battery level is not showing correctly. Overall, while I give it five stars, it offers a lot of features for the price. I will update my review if I encounter any issues.
