First of all I would like to say that I am a certified diesel engine technician who has been a technician for almost 10 years. I build diesel engines for a living. I helped my friend with his truck. He had a typical leak in the 7.3 dipstick adapter. This caught my attention because he didn't want to pay $300 for an improved adapter for pure diesel blanks. I read the reviews and realized that most of the bad reviews were probably because people were experienced. So I decided to give it a try. It was a complete mistake. The new stuffing box is junk and the metal washer is very thin and flimsy. I took the old nut off and installed a stuffing box with a sealant you just can't get enough of. Luckily I had some. I set up the washing machine and let it dry overnight. Launched, driven and flows slowly. Now, as I said, I'm a professional diesel engineer building engines. I did it step by step and as perfect as possible. I could see if it was $15 but $90 is crazy for what you get. Long story short, I got him to order a diesel billet aluminum adapter and installed it in less than 15 minutes. The leak is completely gone. Don't skimp, either fix it properly or buy a good updated adapter instead of that chinese junk.
