Description of RecPro RV Tankless Water Heater: On Demand Hot Water, Gas-Powered & Remote Control - Black

No more waiting for the water tank to warm up or running out of warm water halfway through your shower. With this amazing machine, you can have a steady stream of hot water flowing to your faucets or shower without waiting for the tank to warm up. There is a forced exhaust structure that keeps the air safe and clean while and after entering the combustion chamber. There is also a dust net to make sure no dirt gets into the tankless water heater. There is a low water pressure startup, which helps to protect the heater and make it easier to use.

Works great! in my review

Put in a 1999 Winnebago Chieftain 35u. Had to build a 2 1/2 inch wall and covered it with white flashing and you can never tell its not factory. Only took about a hour to install. The temp works perfectly and even works well on the low pressure 12volt pump. Used for a 4 day stay at the beach with 4 adults showering and never once ran out of hot water! Also barely used any propane! Very highly recommended.

Pros
  • The black design looks sleek and modern
Cons
  • May require additional ventilation equipment

Works great (again) since I removed the rv water filter

An rv mechanic installed for me, saying he made the water filter stop slowing the water flow though I don’t know how. I just removed that filter and again look forward to a hot shower since it’s now flowing great again! Sorry I didn’t think yo call for tech support sinc

Pros
  • This water is so wonderful long hot showers and for wife and kids bathes.
Cons
  • Requires professional installation

Buyer beware: my feedback

It's the first time I ever ordered a new hot water heater that already had water in the lines packaging was damaged and when I tried to call customer service number the recording I got was trying to sell me insurance and other items when no way to actually contact someone this thing is definitely buyer beware

Pros
  • The heater is equipped with advanced safety features that ensure long-lasting operation
Cons
  • May require additional plumbing modification to install

anyone can install it. Very easy! !

Very easy to install. Great on demand hot water for your shower. So easy you don’t need the tech support! Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Not environmentally friendly

Defective item on arrival.

Installed the unit and nothing would turn on. Checked the board and one of the resistors was cracked causing no power to flow through. So I now have a water heater that doesn’t work and I’m waiting on another that I ordered before returning this one.

Pros
  • It provides consistent temperature control for your water needs
Cons
  • May cause damage to plumbing if not installed properly

great water heater in my review

It works like a charm. you can select the water temp to what ever you want it to be. the installation was easy and straight forward. it takes about as long to get hot water as it takes for the water in a tank heater to get to the faucet. over all a great in vestment. the only thing i didn't like was the water connections in the back yopu have to be careful on tightening the connections because the connection is a soft copper.

Pros
  • I love not running out of hot water in the middle of a shower.
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all RV models

Good alternative for my opinion

Had a hard time finding a heater as the one the was a "replacement” wasn’t even close. This heater works great with hot water quickly. If you run hot water constantly ie. shower, it’s amazing however if you aren’t on full hookups the gray water tank will get full quickly as when you do the normal pause between getting wet, soaping up and rinsing off, there is some pretty chilly water every time you stop the flow… it’s a learning curve that I’ll figure out. Still would rather have had a standard

Pros

Cons
  • May create unusual odors or smells during operation

We just had it installed and it works well, very impressed so far.

This was a replacement for a frozen water heater that exploded last winter. So we wanted to try something else different. It was a easy install for my son who is an electrician. It took about 2 hrs.

Pros
  • The heater is a cost-effective solution for an RV, providing hot water on-demand
Cons
  • May require additional testing or inspections to meet safety standards

Pictures are misleading

As other reviewers have said, this is not branded "Recpro” as the image would show. It’s a Fogatti brand. As far as I can tell, it works as advertised.

Pros
  • The heater maintains the desired temperature consistently
Cons
  • May require additional equipment for proper exhaust ventilation

Must have for camping

Greatest thing ever for camping. Fits in the same space as original. Never ending hot water, as long as you have propane you will have hot water.

Pros
  • ‎32.3 pounds
Cons
  • May be affected by power surges or fluctuations

Works ,easy install

Was concerned but had to do something, they stopped making water heater we needed, anyways I installed this product was 3.5 inches smaller on height and width, it's a old hud trailer, water lines were like a pex that coupled up and gas coupled up also no issues as far as electric again no issues I put the digital display down low ran wire through wall soldered it you can't screw this up ,so easy, then hooked hot wire up and ground, I had a bad ground on old trailer ,cleaned connections up…

Pros
  • It's easy to install the heater in an RV since it can be mounted on a wall
Cons
  • May be less efficient than tank-style water heaters in certain situations

Not perfect, but a good upgrade

We installed this in our travel trailer to replace our 6 gallon water heater. Instructions are vague, but if you are handy you can get through it. I did not like that they ask you to go purchase the over-temp/over-pressure safety valve instead of supplying it with the unit. But we got one from our local hardware store and got it installed on the unit. We did have to slightly enlarge the hole in our campers outer wall to get the new unit to slide in but that’s not the manufacturers fault. What…

Pros
  • The heater is easy to install and saves time and money
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustments to maintain proper gas flow

FALSE ADVERTISING! good for me

If you think you're going to get a RecPro, as advertised, think again. I don't know how it works because there will be no installation until this is sorted. I bought a RecPro, was promised a RecPro, was delivered a Fogatti. RecPro has a customer service here in America . . . guess where Fogatti has a customer service? No where I'm calling since the number is international! If you want a Fogatti, buy this, if you want a RecPro, don't buy this!

Pros
  • ‎RP-1057
Cons
  • May require larger propane tanks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better then the 6 gallon tank

The water heater beats the old 6 gallon tank hands down. That being said it gets wonky on temperature after about 7 minutes- the normal time you get with a six gallon tank. It hasn't shut down or anything, it just changes from real hot to warm randomly after a about 7 minutes. The installation instructions are absolutely useless! You have to ground one lead for the remote to make it work fyi. Doesn't seem to matter which wire goes to which or which you ground- would be nice to know! Tank fits…

Pros
  • ‎Natural Gas
Cons
  • May require additional costs for installation accessories

Works really good in my review

Works great. when i set the temp it does go a few degrees higher. i set the temp to 95 it goes up t0 105. when i turn the cold knob on it helps regulate the temp so i can take cooler showers while my wife likes steaming hot.The only thing is u cant turn the cold knob all the way on, it does turn the heater off. u can turn the cold knob about 3/4 the way before it turns the heater off. so still an amazing product for the price. really easy to install.

Pros
  • It ensures higher energy utilization, providing more hot water while using less energy
Cons
  • May require additional parts to connect to existing plumbing system

Perfect fit for 2021 Coleman Lantern 262BH

I was a little nervous when starting this project. Removing the old tank wasn't all that bad, and, to my amazement, the install was fairly simple. After ensuring the propane line and the electrical lines were properly installed/attached, the water heater works great. I cannot stress how easy this project/upgrade was. 2021 Coleman Lantern 262BH model.

Pros
  • There is a low water pressure startup, which helps to protect the heater and make it easier to use.
Cons
  • May lead to increased propane expenses

Works great! in my review

This unit is about 1/8th inch too big for my opening so I had to grind away a bit of the metal to get it in there. That was the only hassle for me, besides not having any installation instructions or owner's manual.Like all tankless water heaters, it's a compromise between water pressure and temperature.I had to turn the main water inlet down to about 30-40% to keep 120 degree water flowing continuously. This meant all the cold water pressure was also much lower. So I added a shutoff valve at…

Pros
  • Simply amazing!! Best showers ever iny RV
Cons
  • Gas-powered, potentially dangerous

Works well with some limitations

We replaced the 6 gallon 2 way tank water heater that originally came in our travel trailer with this unit. After having it installed for a couple weeks, we have a list of both pros and cons.Pros:-Direct fit replacement for the Dometic/Atwood 6 gallon tank style heater. I didn’t have to make a fillet panel or anything for the outside of the trailer.-Does a great job at providing continuous hot water and maintaining the set temperature (there are a couple caveats to this in the cons)-Built in…

Pros
  • This heater is equipped with an automatic shutoff mechanism, keeping you and your RV safe
Cons
  • May not be as reliable in extreme temperatures

Solid little unit in my review

I live in my RV and had my old water heater develop a leak. It took me a couple of hours to install including removing the old unit, and modifying the piping. The old unit had a tank and held 6 gallons, and ran out of hot water pretty quickly. This one takes just a moment to get water to temp, but once there, holds it nicely. And i NEVER run out of hot water now, which is amazing. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • The heater looks modern and stylish, making it a perfect interior addition to your RV
Cons
  • May be difficult to find replacement parts in rural areas

Not recommended for my opinion

It quit working a couple days after install.Ordered another one and it was not only damaged, it didn't work at all.I wouldnt recommend this one at all.

Pros
  • I love not running out of hot water in the middle of a shower.
Cons
  • May not be as safe as traditional water heaters
