As the owner of several Dremel rotary tools, two of which run on lithium batteries, I first wondered how it could be better - - God, I was right or wrong, whichever side of mine discussion I was in. I love him! I mainly use it for gunsmithing and it's much more convenient than a dremel. The foot pedal provides smooth and linear speed control, adding a whole new dimension to instrument control and flexibility. The handpiece is also more accurate and easier to use due to the smaller handle diameter than the Dremel. I keep the tool hanging a few feet from my vise so it's "right there" when needed. The size 0 chuck comes with a handle mounted wrench that is quicker and easier to use than a regular collet on a regular rotary tool. Unfortunately. It won't fit a 1/4" shank (but neither will this Dremel) and it would be handy these days. The lower 18,000rpm top speed compared to almost twice the speed of rotary tools with less torque and horsepower turned out to be no problem at all - think about how many times you've had to crank your dremel up to full speed, mine almost never is.
