Glass lid is very suitable for serving oil, vinegar, salad dressing. I use it with Masontops plastic glass tape for rust prevention. The only issue is that there is a second small hole in the top of the jar's lid (allowing airflow so the liquid is properly distributed) which prevents me from using it to store perishable foods (like my salad dressings). I use one of The Doctors brushpicks to cover this hole during storage and I think it's enough to store salad dressings for a week or two, which is all I need. But I think the description should state that there is a hole. Even better, this hole has a plug.
