Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I got this machine to upgrade from my previous HP 255 G6. The Asus Vivobook 15 OLED series was selected because of its high-resolution screen, making it ideal for post-trip photo editing. In this price range, no screen comes close to matching these specs. The broad consensus is that it's a good idea. The screen is blank when compared to my old laptop. The new one has twice as much memory as the old one and a significantly quicker processor. More than 8 GB on the old one was incompatible with the CPU. Its proportions are so small that even a medium-sized backpack can accommodate it. A 2.5" drive can be installed. About Asus and how it treats its consumers currently. All of the packaging identified it as K513EA. Driver installation, however, revealed that this was actually model number K513EAN. The primary distinction is the absence of a backlit keyboard. Then I realized that by pushing the F7 button, a picture of the sun setting would appear, indicating the presence of a backlight. You'll be fine, I didn't really give chase anyway. Drivers up next. According to the product page for this model on Asus's website, yes. However, after setting up the system and installing all of the drivers from the website, it became clear that the computer did not recognize half of the devices, displaying instead a jumble of unanswered questions. I admit that I am an old fogey who has always relied on the manufacturer's drivers rather than those provided by Windows. MyASUS installation did not resolve the issues. The program supports ate Only drivers that are currently set up. I put in all the firewood by consulting Google. Then I went to MyASUS and got all the drivers I needed. Therefore, it took 4 hours to install the system with the drivers. I sold my original Intel, which was more expensive than Samsung, and bought a Samsung 980 with 500 GB to replace the SSD. I also splurged on a 1 terabyte Samsung 870 EVO. The disk subsystem has blossomed into a thing of beauty. It turned out that I had made the purchase just in time, as Samsung SSDs have subsequently become extremely hard to come by and expensive as a result. On February 3rd, I paid 70k for the gadget. A total of $110,000 is required now. After the dollar dropped in value by a factor of 1.5, the price increased by the same factor. It is up to each individual to decide if it is a good time to make such a purchase.

Pros
  • A monitor with a good color gamut, measuring in at 133% sRGB and nearly 100% AdobeRGB. Any professional photographer or videographer will be completely content. And the typical customer who wants a screen with that kind of color gamut won't want to look at the subpar IPS panels. 45 percent NTSC, as the good becomes routine very quickly. This device's intelligent CPU makes it possible to watch 4K HDR content at normal frame rates. In addition, the integrated is adequate for playing games from 5–7 years ago at their highest settings. Although it requires a screwdriver to attach to most modern devices, the game may still be played satisfactorily on what is not a dedicated gaming laptop. The speed per Intel core is higher, but the Ryzen 5 and 7 bundles offer more cores and threads, making them more suited for video and image editing on the go. For a small, non-gaming laptop, 16 GB of RAM is plenty. When compared to other laptops, the 3200 MHz RAM with CL22 timings is really good. I considered playing Legions, where the frequency is the same but the timings are shorter but the price is out of this world, and it costs twice as much. It's a plus that you can add a 2.5-inch hard disk. However, in today's practical contexts, HDD installation makes no sense other than financial. The 2.5" HDD market was effectively extinguished thanks to SMR and mandatory 8-second head parking. As a result, only SATA SSDs, preferably from Samsung, will do. The laptop was a very unassuming computer that got the job done. It seldom ever gets hot when running, and I never bothered to check at what temps the fan kicked on. This explains why there is so little dust in the container. Static electricity causes the screen to accumulate dust, however this is easily remedied by a quick brushing. There are two USB 2.0 ports for connecting older devices like a mouse, and two USB 3.2 ports for connecting newer devices. The tablet boasts a beautiful form factor, a comfortable keyboard, and a non-glare glossy display. The equipment will become useful in various activities for many years if you put your hands in the proper places and invest a little money.
Cons
  • Thanks to the Chinese, you can get everything you need for as little as $15, despite the manufacturer's website having all the required drivers, there being no SATA cable in the box, and the disk being held in place with rubber bands. The disk subsystem developed into a source of great distress. First, SSDs are limited to just TWO available lanes of PCI-Express 3.0. Second, the Intel 660p SSD is based on QLC processors, has a capacity of 100 TB, and performs like an old IDE hard drive once its cache is full. This SSD is not particularly fast on its own, and it only needs two lines. However, Ryzen processor versions currently dedicate FOUR lines to the SSD. It's unclear why Intel chips were singled out for this treatment. To move the batches of SSDs that aren't the most popular or highest quality, maybe. After all, the processor's internal design suggests it can handle FOUR lanes of PCI Express 4.0. If your SSD isn't performing well, you can fix it by swapping it out for one that has TLC chips. There won't be any boost to linear reading speed, but the recording size will increase by about 1.5 times. After the initial setup and software download from MyASUS, you won't need firewood again. Another issue is that the retail pricing, especially for the GeForce MX330/MX350, is a little higher than it should be. These video cards are about as good as the built-in, and they're faster by about 15–20%, but they cost more. One of the drawbacks is that the 16 GB model has 8 GB of soldered memory plus one slot. There could be 8 GB variants available with a soldered 4 GB + 1 slot. Only the aforementioned drawbacks exist.
