I thought they might match my new dining room light because the 4000 I bought and returned were so bright they would sting your eyes. I was disappointed that these bulbs were still too bright and just cluttered the room. It wasn't that I was looking for yellow ambient lights or anything, it was just that they were too bright. I finally went down another notch to the 2700 and they were perfect. I've found that buying the right Edison light bulb for your space is a trial and error process.
