Review on 🌬️ In-Wall Humidity Sensor & Fan Control: Leviton IPHS5-1LW Decora, 3A, Single Pole, White by Sammy Suratno

Terrible technical design

I am very disappointed that Leviton will be releasing this design for the consumer market. It uses an electronic switch (FET or other electronic device) to power a load with a very poor and cheap design. With the switch in the off position, my fan (load) is still getting power, very little, but it's getting less power. I can hear that from the constant hum of the fan when the switch is in the off position. The fan is even lukewarm when the switch is in the off position. Just think of the water surface in your garden. In this case, that's the Leviton switch. With your rim in the off position, expect NO water to flow out, no dripping - zero. If it leaks, the water slowly drains from your face, and after a few hours you lose a gallon or more, and you pay for that water loss. It's the same with electricity. This switch turns off the power in the "off" position and two things happen; You are paying for a steady flow of current for the switch to be "off" and if you apply low power to the fan motor, the motor coil will eventually burn out and damage your fan. So now you've paid for unnecessary power and a damaged fan, all because Leviton's product manager couldn't get the specs right for the contract manufacturing in China. Additionally, they're selling them online to minimize customer complaints from home improvement stores, where their operating losses will be even greater. Think about it - as a consumer, you're more likely to return a product you don't like than to return it after you've ordered it online. Not to mention the problem with the humidity sensor. These sensors usually work from the first few months to a year. But they rarely last more than 2 years. You have to invest a lot of money in a quality humidity sensor to get the reliability a homeowner expects. Personally, I just like the automatic timer that this switch offers, and the design aesthetic is relatively pleasing. But functionally it's Epic Fail => REFUND for REFUND!
