The popcorn maker arrived in tattered packaging but was packaged well enough to survive apart from little bits of silica gel everywhere. The metal parts are very thin and bend easily. I have to fiddle with a small tray to collect random grains every time the machine is used, but it gets the job done. The instructions say to heat the oil by running it under hot water (to turn it into a liquid), but this makes it very difficult to pour into the pot heater. I recommend leaving it set and adding it to the pot - just let it sit for a few seconds before adding the grains and salt. My biggest complaint is that I'm a bit concerned about the proximity of the power cord to the top of the pot heater as it will inevitably get splattered with oil and salt. Overall, this device was relatively inexpensive and easy to use, which made up for some of its shortcomings.
