I just moved in alone for the first time and obviously needed plates and bowls. If you look at the bottom of the plates you will see that they are not microwave safe. Aka, they feel very hot when you put them in and can either warp or contain some type of chemical that is unsafe to heat. I still use them in the microwave and haven't seen them warp or have any ill effects. Good set for the price. Being plastic they are hard to break and very flimsy so if you have a ton you can definitely stack them together. The bowls are a good size, not too big and not too small. Overall I am very satisfied with the product!
