Great tool when it works. I bought it in April 2015 and use it to make ice cream 2-3 times a month. The recipe book is excellent, the instructions are clear and the machine works perfectly. . . until May 2016 - immediately after the end of the return period. We made a mix for ice cream as usual, put it in a coffee maker, turned it on, set the time, START said. . . and nothing. It stood and cooled, but the paddles didn't turn to stir the ice. I decided to tinker with it. There is a black plastic piece on the bottom that is held in place by three #15 Torx screws and two tabs. Remove the three torx screws, press the tabs and remove the plastic piece exposing the gear box. The drive consists of a small plastic wheel that drives a rubber belt that drives a train of three plastic gears. Not a single gear turned. I squeezed the strap and felt something snap. A very small piece of hard shit fell out and suddenly the gear train was free. . . I could turn it by hand. I put everything back together and it worked fine for about a month, then I had to repeat the performance. Disconnect it, flip it over, remove the bottom plate, play with the rubber belt and gears until they spin freely, reassemble. In general, I "fixed" it five times, today is the fifth. I have no idea what is causing the transfer to hang. . . there is no hardened grease or other foreign bodies in the gearbox. The little piece of shit that fell out the first time turned out to be a piece of dry frozen ice cream, but I couldn't figure out how it got into the gears. If I can find a parts list, I'll order the whole drive. Until then, I'll just keep my #15 Torx screwdriver handy.
