I'm not a huge techie to begin with, I just needed a good point and shoot camera for less than $200. I thought I found this in the Nikon S6100. I've had this camera for almost 2 full years now and to begin with it lived up to the Nikon name: it took sharp photos, the touchscreen was always responsive, not clunky etc. Fast forward to last week. I had a friend who was getting married and I wanted to photograph the happy event. I plug in the camera to charge and nothing. The charge indicator light doesn't even come on. I thought it might be that outlet so I tried every outlet in my bedroom (4 separate outlets but nothing. I tried turning the camera on. Nothing! The camera wasn't dead before but now it wouldn't even turn on turn on) !So I googled this issue only to find out that others had the same issue with the Coolpix S6100. i am so disgusted I think if I spent $180 on a camera it would last over 2 years. Don't even waste your money. Maybe I'll have better luck with Canon.
