They were very good when I bought them. 16 megapixels with this little thing seemed unrealistic, but it was better than cell phone cameras back then. The touchscreen was a bit blurry. immediately after the photo, but if you zoom in you can better appreciate the quality, especially when uploading to a computer or when not viewing from the camera itself. Scaling is normal. Settings for pictures and videos are ok. I mean it's not the best, but it's better than most of its sizes and times.

So I've now bought 3 of these in total and might buy a 4th because I have extra batteries. 1 was returned 2 weeks ago due to a lens defect. The lens is fully extended and won't retract, and turning the camera off worked a couple of times and then nothing. I sent the defective one back and got a replacement. The camera takes good pictures and the lens quality is excellent. There are two criticisms, however: first, the touchscreen isn't as sensitive and can be annoying to use. Should differ from some negative reviews about this camera. I have a Coolpix S550 which is a few years old, not as flexible as the S6100 but takes great photos. In terms of performance, the S6100 is several notches ahead of the S550. I love Nikon cameras but with all the new technology this camera is pretty sluggish when it comes to recording and writing to the SD card. The rear screen requires use of the stylus on the strap or a fingertip. So don't think it will work like your Android touch screen phone.
