They seem quite strong, quite thick and wide. They seem much more durable than the military grade nylon webbing belts I've been buying at "army surplus" stores for years. They look good in person too. Between the two outer nylon layers is a kind of hard plastic layer. Use heavy-duty scissors to cut short fabric, then light it to keep the nylon from fraying. The ratchet buckle is fairly flat and doesn't look like a boat anchor, unlike some buckles that come with leather ratchet straps. And for the price of a leather ratchet I got 2 of them. What's not to like?
