Dad has used them all his life. I naively thought it was just a "father" quality, a bit of a gross habit, like many "father" things. Now, after millimeters of gum recession and a bout of gingivitis, I get it. I bought them, now they are not so easy to find in retail stores. They have been replaced by highly technological, environmentally destructive, ridiculously complex and expensive products that do the same thing. I'm glad I found her at Revain. I also sent my father a pack. I can't say they are any more effective than regular restaurant quality toothpicks, which will certainly be cheaper. But we like the shape, and the mint flavor makes the task more bearable, almost pleasant in a slightly rude way. However, I have to remove the stars as they are now made in China under the Revive brand. I hope Revive does frequent and randomized quality control. Wood products from China, such as formaldehyde, etc., have safety problems, especially when they get into the mouth. Something to think about.
