UPDATED: Read before buying

UPDATED 9/27/2020. Here is my review update after some time of use before it fell apart and the seller never responded to my message. You can read my original review below, but I'll update by saying that the device I ordered isn't exactly holding up. In fact, this is a temporary and disposable unit. When driving last week (regular roads) I noticed that the holder vibrated excessively and when I touched it I could tell that it was very loose. It was securely attached to the handrail, but part of the cup holder was loose. When I got home and looked at it, I saw that the two SMALL screws on the back holding it together (which you can't see when installing it) had come out of the case and the unit was falling apart. Very simple, I thought. I took it off the dash and carefully tried to tighten the screws with a small, pointed Phillips screwdriver. SOFT. Well, they both took off the tiny plastic case they were barely screwed into, so the whole thing fell apart in my hand. Very fine thread in a very small soft plastic case. you do the math After a little struggle, I decided that I would do the same as everyone else. superglue. NO. What a @$%*((@(*^!# mess. It wouldn't stick together until the glue dried and after 20 minutes of inventing new profanity I just tossed it aside and gave up. I sent emailed the seller and asked if there was a short warranty and never got a reply, however I'm updating this review as the unit worked for what it was supposed to do, but it only lasted a few months, when all he did was "sit there".Fixed to the railing The fact that the seller didn't respond is also disappointing.I know we live in a throw away world that is burning all around us , but I expected it to last at least a year so it's not a mechanical part just a phone holder very disappointed that $18 was like 3 beers with the boys if you buy that (think about it). I would suggest that those two screws are "tight" before you s ie install, and then apply superglue to the screw heads themselves to keep them from coming out b and maybe a good bead f glue the seam where the two plastic cases meet (you'll see what I mean) and THEN install it to the best hoping. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been looking (like many Jeep owners) for a cell phone mount for my Jeep for quite some time and have tried quite a few mounts that didn't work just because of the interior design. I think that does the trick. It doesn't sit on the dash in direct 110-degree central Texas sunlight like the mounts that sit above the radio in the Jeep's alcove, and because it's mounted on the "Oh Crap" panel, it doesn't pick up any Place. any room or sit in a strange place like other holders. I have an iPhone 7 Plus with a case and it fits great. It's firm enough to hold a phone, but pulls out easily without having to press on tight springs or anything. I did notice that it shakes a little while driving making the screen almost unreadable BUT this can be fixed by simply inserting the phone into the 'second' groove at the very back of the mount. So it's closer to a dash-mounted lever, with less rumble and movement transmitted to the phone. In my case, simply moving to where the phone was reduces the movement by 75% or 80% and everything works fine. If you put the edge of the phone all the way forward in the holder, it will shake a lot. This holder works well, it serves a dual purpose (good can holder for trails) and yes I would recommend it. It worked for me and I'm happy with it
