Review on Broan-Nutone 744LED 75-Watt Recessed Bathroom Lighting by Robert Rasmussen

Great upgrade for our laundry room.

We have a laundry room upstairs which usually gets a little damp and stuffy after a few loads. One solution was to leave the door open, but then I would have to hear the washer and dryer running non-stop; My study is next to the laundry room. After a quick google search, I realized that the obvious solution is to install an extractor fan, similar to what is found in most bathrooms these days. electrical cables in the attic to split the current load between two switches. Instead, I went for this exhaust and lightbox combo. You flip the switch and the fan and light come on. Add a lightbulb with a motion sensor and the light stays on as long as someone walks around the room. At the end of the day, you flip the light switch and the entire device turns off. The exhaust fan seems to have done its job, the laundry no longer feels damp and stuffy after a few loads. Also, the extractor hood is much quieter than our bathrooms (see dB app screenshot). The ones in our bathroom are the noisy standard models, loud enough to mask some of the interesting noises coming from the bathroom. This unit is much quieter and barely noticeable when you've just exited the laundry room with the door closed. My only gripe, if you call it that, is that some deburring may be needed on the metal body itself. Looks like they just stamped the metal shell, bent it, and left all the little jagged bits of metal and sharp edges for you to spot during installation. Not uncommon for devices of this type, but definitely worth the attention of novice hobbyists. Overall, I'm happy with this solution and have recommended it to at least two other people since installing it.
